Highly recommended for organized tours to Turkey's ancient classical sites We had two excellent tours with Crowded House--two days from Istanbul via Troy (including Troy Museum) and Pergamon to Selçuk and one day in Pamukkale/Hierapolis from Selçuk. Outstandingly well organized, with remarkable customer support from day one and highly knowledgeable guides as well as skillful drivers. You will not be disappointed. Book this tour!! Pilgrimage completed! This was truly an experience not to miss. Our tour was 15 people from all over the world, 4 Australians, 2 Irish included. We managed to fit every site of importance with plenty of time to explore and reflect. A truly emotional day for many of us, the nation of Turkiye have paid such respect to each and every nation involved. Our guide Birak (not Borat in a manikini) knew more about the Gallipoli campaign and Australian and New Zealand culture than anyone l have ever met. His humility, genuine respect and knowledge added to this wonderful experience. You will be very lucky to spend the day with such an intelligent man. Our drivers were always helpful and told us about interesting points along the way, especially our morning driver (l am sorry l forgot his name). A very comfortable and safe drive with good options for food etc both ways. It’s a long day but worth every moment!! I would 100% recommend this tour.Posted on Google

What a fantastic tour of Gallipoli! We chose the one‑day trip from Istanbul, and although it was a long day—picked up from our hotel at 6 am and returning after 9 pm—it was absolutely worth it. If your time in Istanbul is limited and you can manage a full travel day, this tour is a must. Our guide did an excellent job of bringing the soldiers’ experiences to life while keeping the atmosphere engaging and light‑hearted. As an Australian I found it a fascinating, emotional and rewarding tour. Our guide Cindy was fabulous - very knowledgeable. We visited 11 sites. Such a beautiful area despite the tragic war. Our tour guide Hasan was outstanding helping us understand the goals, the strategies and what actually happened from both the Turkish and British/ANZAC view points. He bought the stories to life by showing us pictures of the day (often while we stood where the pictures were taken). He also balanced respect with some fun over the three days. She is extremely knowledgeable, personable and presents information in an engaging way and is answers any questions you might have. She is also highly qualified, holding masters in tourism studies and history and literature. The minibus is very comfortable and air-conditioned and the lunch on the Gallipoli tour is delicious. I'm vegan and they catered for me without me giving them advance notice - everyone had lentil soup and there were so many vegetable dishes I could eat.Posted on Viator
Margaret_B4 September 2026An excellent day for a solo Aussie lady An amazing experience. Comfy air con vehicle from Istanbul to Canakkale followed by a nice relaxed lunch before the tour. Our tour guide, Ibrahim, was incredibly knowledgeable with excellent English and a great sense of humour. We saw a lot of sites and the tour was just the right length of time to get to see important sites and have time for photos etc. My grandfather landed at Anzac Cove as an 18 year old and went on to survive the Western Front and came home at the age of 22. It was very moving for me to see the beach where he would have first put his boots on Turkish sand. I highly recommend this tour and Crowded House Tours for really looking after guests. The lunch was yummy, we were impressed with the efficiency of the tour, our guide had excellent knowledge although we did feel at times the stops were a bit short to really explore each area - but in saying that we were on a tight schedule due to the long drive at each end so understand it was a necessary time limit. Hasan, our guide, had obviously done his research and shared many details and interesting background stories with us, keeping his delivery as light and entertaining as the subject matter would allow. If we had to make just one suggestion (with all due respect for the many visitors from from the formerly allied countries undertaking this tour), it would be to spend some more time on how the conflict was perceived on the Turkish side and by the many Turkish soldiers and their families (keeping in mind that the Ottoman Empire had been at war for most of the years preceding World War One already).Posted on Tripadvisor

He was able to bring home what was clearly a meaningful experience in their history. I am an interloper from elsewhere and it was just as interesting and meaningful to me. dewscay26 August 2026A truly memorable experience From the moment we were picked up at our Hotel by Oktay, our driver, this tour was conducted in slick and highly professional manner. It's quite a trek from Istanbul to Gallipoli but with Otkay at the wheel of the air-conditioned van we gobbled up the km's. Once we arrived at Eceabat, we met our guide Simge who was immediately both extremely engaging and friendly. We had a sumptuous lunch and then set off for the tour. What followed was the most comprehensive and informative trip back in time through each point of the Gallipoli campaign. Being Australian we were obviously interested in seeing the major landmarks, battlegrounds and memorials that we had learned about through school, movies and documentaries. Our guide Simge took our education to another level, walking us through each stage of the Operation with exceptional knowledge and a flair for storytelling that can't be overstated. Her passion and enthusiasm was infectious and kept us completely engaged for the 4.5+ hours of the tour. What stood out to me was the respect and solemnity shown by the Turkish people towards both the ANZAC's (and other allies) and their own fallen soldiers. This was illustrated by the attitude of the wonderful Simge throughout the tour. She embodied the reverence that is shown right throughout each location of this most important piece of shared history. The words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s famous 1934 tribute to the ANZAC soldiers at Gallipoli assuring grieving mothers that their fallen sons rest in peace in a friendly land were not in the least bit hollow. We spent 2 days on the Peninsular visiting the Anzac significant sites with Ibo, Troy with Sam and doing a boat tour to see the landing sites from the water as the with Sindy. This was an unexpected highlight as we were able to snorkel over the wreck of the sunken Milo close to shore. A true "pinch me" experience. These three guides made history come alive as they explained the significance of the various sites in a way that was not a mechanical recitation but a more interactive conversation. They are such an asset to the company and it was obvious that they love what they are doing. In addition they showed such care and concern for our wellbeing and comfort as we went from site to site. We will remember each of them always. Thankyou Ibo, Sam and Sindy. You were all perfect. Crowded House were a pleasure to deal with from our first email to the moment we left. Transport to and from Istanbul, ferry crossings of the Strait, food, accommodation all arranged and worked seamlessly. Huge amounts of dead time Seeing Gallipoli was fantastic but I also didn’t think they actually respected our time very well and we could have seen way more. After lunch there was a bunch of dead time (20 minutes) then it was half an hour going towards the actual site where our chatted but he only started talking about the landings once we got to a statue (Respect to Mehmetçik Monument) where the van backed into trees so we couldn’t even see it. At that point there was 35 minutes of our guide actually talking about the landings. I asked why we were just sitting in some bushes and he kept talking for more than 10 minutes. Once he was done we had 5 minutes to see the monument before we got back into the van. It was like that a lot where he’d talk for 10-15 minutes then give us 5-10 minutes to actually see it and it would’ve been more impactful if he’d talked more and pointed stuff out instead of giving us info and then letting us wander. Overall I’m happy I saw what we did but it was a bummer not seeing helles or achi especially because there was definitely time for it if we’d just been moving.
