Surreal and knowledgeable. We had a surreal tour with Burak, who was very knowledgeable. I came with 6 of my friends from New Zealand and we learnt more about Gallipoli, in half a day than we did in school. Transfer from Istanbul was smooth and seamless.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

The best company to use An exemplary operator and tour. Spoke to Ramazan expressing an interest in the Gallipoli tour but needing to go onto Selcuk afterwards as opposed to returning to Istanbul. He immediately said that was possible, where were we going, what help did we need etc. A few emails later it was all arranged. 3 months later they did exactly as promised, the tour lead by Borak was fabulous and they then took us to Canakkale with the other tour participants. At midnight we were collected and escorted to the bus station where the bus manager was advised that we might need help with the language when our bus arrived. The whole experience was managed professionally and with our peace of mind considered. Amazing. Use Crowded House...they won't disappointPosted on Getyourguide![]()

All Nee Zealanders and Australians should do this tour! It is a long day from Istanbul but so worthwhile and we’re really glad we made the time. Charlie was fantastic! He had so much knowledge and respect for the Anzacs and knew the answers to all our questions.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

100 percent must do. The stories are truly touching when your standing there where it all happened. I knew it would be something special to go to Gallipoli as an Australian growing up on the stories about the battle (but not knowing the detail) Our guide ‘Burak’ was an absolute fountain of knowledge about the war and which forces went where. The time spent in Gallipoli (around 3.30 hours) was perfect. We went to places (around 7) of real significance for Kiwis and Aussies. Even though other forces were a part of the contingent attacking the coast. I can’t fault the people and the experience of the day. Just expect a long day and be patient as they do drive around Istanbul to pick people up. We had a stop in the middle of the trip going there and back, which helps.Posted on Getyourguide![]()

***Awesome***Cindy our gorgeous guide, luxury buses and our drivers the best. The ANZAC tour, 80kms along the breath taking “ Gallipoli” battle coastline and stunning views, over 20 sites, presented by our guides - a brilliant experience. The Commonwealth Turkish Government Thank-you sincerely for sharing your country with the world. To honour, protect and remember the 1915 WW1 battle on your lands, with the ANZACs, the attempted British Invasion by sea & land to attack your homeland, is reflected in faith, respect, courage and honour. Australia & Turkey forever joined in a river of tears in the tragic loss of thousands of brave soldiers of Turkey. Learning about Mustafa - the Brave-heart Omega, 1923 Founder of the Republic of Modern Turkey, was the best part for me. Blessings forever Türkiye, we are humbled and privileged by your Government & communities that continue to support the ANZACs buried in your country.Posted on Google![]()

We had a wonderful 2 days doing a Gallipoli and a Troy tour. Our guide Burak was outstandingly knowledgeable, we learnt so much in two days and he answered any questions we had. It is clear he is extremely passionate about the Gallipoli campaign and Australian culture and this is really felt in his tour. As we had family members who were present during Gallipoli, this meant a lot to us and we really appreciated his knowledge and passion. Our driver (B, sorry unsure of his full name), was also extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend crowded house tours and Burak, exceptionally organised, informative and definitely memorable!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Awesome experience, a must do! We booked this tour from Australia. Right from the beginning, the company was engaging, helpful and responsive to our emails and any questions we had. The tour pick up, from our Istanbul hotel was on time, the bus driver was friendly and got us to the meeting point as expected. Included lunch was good, a vegetarian meal request was no problem. Our guides were friendly, informative, knowledgeable and engaging, making both the Gallipoli and Troy tour experiences memorable and meaningful. The overnight accommodation was excellent. The return transfer to Istanbul was direct, with no issues. The tour experience, right from the initial stage was excellent and well organised - we have no hesitation in recommending this tour company and the 2 day/ 1 night Gallipoli and Troy tour. Gallipoli guide Burak a top bloke. Commenting specifically on Crowded House guide Burak who led our small group Gallipoli tour. We are interested in conflict history and have toured many of the worlds modern war sites. Burak is the best guide we've experienced. His extensive depth of knowledge both of the battles and the wider geopolitical context, his energy, enthusiasm and engagement, was a wonder to behold on this very hot day. Ours was a mixed group of Aussies and Kiwis and he took us to all of the sites significant to both nations. Applying his detailed knowledge of where ANZAC contingents were deployed, he got us very close to the exact spot where our grandfather was seriously wounded. He is personable, has a great sense of humour and lines of banter but was also sensitive to the deeply moving effect on us of sombre locations such as Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair. We never felt rushed or bombarded with too much information. He encouraged questions and discussion and seemed genuinely interested in stories descendants of veterans had about their family members experience there in 1915. The only negative of this excellent day was Crowded House's organisation and communication of transfer arrangements, which could do with some improvement.Posted on Getyourguide![]()

Highly recommended for organized tours to Turkey's ancient classical sites We had two excellent tours with Crowded House--two days from Istanbul via Troy (including Troy Museum) and Pergamon to Selçuk and one day in Pamukkale/Hierapolis from Selçuk. Outstandingly well organized, with remarkable customer support from day one and highly knowledgeable guides as well as skillful drivers. We greatly enjoyed both tours and would happily book again with Crowded House in the future!Posted on Viator![]()

You will not be disappointed. Book this tour!! Pilgrimage completed! This was truly an experience not to miss. Our tour was 15 people from all over the world, 4 Australians, 2 Irish included. We managed to fit every site of importance with plenty of time to explore and reflect. A truly emotional day for many of us, the nation of Turkiye have paid such respect to each and every nation involved. Our guide Birak (not Borat in a manikini) knew more about the Gallipoli campaign and Australian and New Zealand culture than anyone l have ever met. His humility, genuine respect and knowledge added to this wonderful experience. You will be very lucky to spend the day with such an intelligent man. Our drivers were always helpful and told us about interesting points along the way, especially our morning driver (l am sorry l forgot his name). A very comfortable and safe drive with good options for food etc both ways. It’s a long day but worth every moment!! I would 100% recommend this tour.Posted on Google![]()

What a fantastic tour of Gallipoli! We chose the one‑day trip from Istanbul, and although it was a long day—picked up from our hotel at 6 am and returning after 9 pm—it was absolutely worth it. If your time in Istanbul is limited and you can manage a full travel day, this tour is a must. Our guide did an excellent job of bringing the soldiers’ experiences to life while keeping the atmosphere engaging and light‑hearted. It’s remarkable to stand in such a peaceful place today and reflect on how different it once was.+1Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

The "Fashion Show" excursion took away from the experience of visiting ancient sites. The guide was very knowledgeable. Pick up at the hotel went smoothly. The lunch was very good. My wife and I were in a small group. Everything went very well until we were taken to a "fashion Show", which was a blatant disguise to sell us leather and other clothing. Nobody in our group bought anything. It took away from the overall experience. My wife asked if we were going to see St John's basilica. Not today on this tour came the reply. It would have been much better to avoided the "Fashion" experience and replace it with a visit to St John's basilica.Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

Three day private tour to Gallipoli and Troy Crowded House Tours looked after our private tours to Gallipoli and Troy. Our tour guide Hasan was outstanding helping us understand the goals, the strategies and what actually happened from both the Turkish and British/ANZAC view points. He bought the stories to life by showing us pictures of the day (often while we stood where the pictures were taken). He also balanced respect with some fun over the three days. He was “flat out like a lizard drinking” during the tour!!!Posted on Google![]()

We had the good fortune of having Simge as our tour guide for both the Gallipoli tour and the Troy tour. She is extremely knowledgeable, personable and presents information in an engaging way and is answers any questions you might have. She is also highly qualified, holding masters in tourism studies and history and literature. The minibus is very comfortable and air-conditioned and the lunch on the Gallipoli tour is delicious. I'm vegan and they catered for me without me giving them advance notice - everyone had lentil soup and there were so many vegetable dishes I could eat.Posted on Viator![]()

An excellent day for a solo Aussie lady An amazing experience. Comfy air con vehicle from Istanbul to Canakkale followed by a nice relaxed lunch before the tour. Our tour guide, Ibrahim, was incredibly knowledgeable with excellent English and a great sense of humour. We saw a lot of sites and the tour was just the right length of time to get to see important sites and have time for photos etc. My grandfather landed at Anzac Cove as an 18 year old and went on to survive the Western Front and came home at the age of 22. It was very moving for me to see the beach where he would have first put his boots on Turkish sand. I highly recommend this tour and Crowded House Tours for really looking after guests. Awesome day.Posted on Google![]()

We really enjoyed our tour of the Gallipoli battlefields. Hasan, our guide, had obviously done his research and shared many details and interesting background stories with us, keeping his delivery as light and entertaining as the subject matter would allow. If we had to make just one suggestion (with all due respect for the many visitors from from the formerly allied countries undertaking this tour), it would be to spend some more time on how the conflict was perceived on the Turkish side and by the many Turkish soldiers and their families (keeping in mind that the Ottoman Empire had been at war for most of the years preceding World War One already).Posted on Google![]()

I was in Turkiye and did an amazing tour of Gallipoli with Crowded House Tours. The guide knew as much as the guests, most of whom were from Australia and New Zealand. He was able to bring home what was clearly a meaningful experience in their history. I am an interloper from elsewhere and it was just as interesting and meaningful to me. Wow! Just did the Gallipoli Tour. Such a great tour and our host Cindy was amazing. Such great knowledge from both the Australian and Turkish perspective. Definitely recommend this tour. Like others posting Google reviews our Crowded House experience was totally positive. We spent 2 days on the Peninsular visiting the Anzac significant sites with Ibo, Troy with Sam and doing a boat tour to see the landing sites from the water as the with Sindy. This was an unexpected highlight as we were able to snorkel over the wreck of the sunken Milo close to shore. A true "pinch me" experience. These three guides made history come alive as they explained the significance of the various sites in a way that was not a mechanical recitation but a more interactive conversation. They are such an asset to the company and it was obvious that they love what they are doing. In addition they showed such care and concern for our wellbeing and comfort as we went from site to site. We will remember each of them always. Thankyou Ibo, Sam and Sindy. You were all perfect. Crowded House were a pleasure to deal with from our first email to the moment we left. Transport to and from Istanbul, ferry crossings of the Strait, food, accommodation all arranged and worked seamlessly. You have set the bar high and we have no hesitation in recommending you to others travelling to the area.Posted on Viator![]()

Bringing the Gallipoli campaign to life I had a wonderful day visiting Gallipoli with Charlie on this Viator tour. The itinerary was perfectly paced, with just the right amount of time at each stop to appreciate the history without ever feeling rushed. Charlie was an excellent guide—friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful in the way he answered questions. He explained the strategic importance of the Gallipoli Peninsula, the perspectives of the different nations involved, and how the campaign unfolded over the days and months with clarity, balance, and diplomacy. His storytelling brought the history to life and made the experience deeply meaningful. A truly special trip that I would highly recommend.Posted on Viator![]()

Well worth doing! We were undecided about taking this tour as it was going to be such a long day travelling from Istanbul, but we are so pleased we did! The day was amazing and Baruk was a fantastic tour guide! He was engaging and funny, while still giving the more solemn moments the respect they deserved. The only glitch we had was a mix up in the pick up time. We had a message the day before saying 6:30am, but then the driver was there and expecting us at 6am. There seemed to be mixed messages given to other tour members too, so these procedures may need to be improved.+1Posted on Viator![]()

Huge amounts of dead time Seeing Gallipoli was fantastic but I also didn’t think they actually respected our time very well and we could have seen way more. After lunch there was a bunch of dead time (20 minutes) then it was half an hour going towards the actual site where our chatted but he only started talking about the landings once we got to a statue (Respect to Mehmetçik Monument) where the van backed into trees so we couldn’t even see it. At that point there was 35 minutes of our guide actually talking about the landings. I asked why we were just sitting in some bushes and he kept talking for more than 10 minutes. Once he was done we had 5 minutes to see the monument before we got back into the van. It was like that a lot where he’d talk for 10-15 minutes then give us 5-10 minutes to actually see it and it would’ve been more impactful if he’d talked more and pointed stuff out instead of giving us info and then letting us wander. Overall I’m happy I saw what we did but it was a bummer not seeing helles or achi especially because there was definitely time for it if we’d just been moving. I don’t regret it but you could find a place that respects your time moreLoad more
