A long day Very informative guide. It was sad, surreal, informative, and amazing. Need a few days there. Long drive to get to Gallipoli from Galata, Istanbul. If all the guides at Crowded House Tours are like Şükrü then I understand why this company is so poplar!Good Tour Guide and Company We travelled round Turkey for 2 weeks and had many different tour companies and guides. Crowded House definitely stood out from the crowd. They have great guides and knew the area well. The drivers were also very attentive. Overall they are the best tour guide company we have come across.Two Fantastic Tours! I did two days of tours with this company from Kusadasi. The first day I did Pamukkale/Hierapolis and the second day I did Ephesus. Both days I was lucky enough to have Merve as my guide. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and made both days fantastic.Pamukkale/Hierapolis was a fantastic day getting to explore an archaeological site and wading in the travertine pools. Merve walked us to the main area, pointed out the different things to see and then gave us about 2 hours free time to explore on our own. My only recommendation would be to have 3 hours of free time as there is so much to see!The next day at Ephesus she took us to Virgin Mary's house and then led us on a guided tour through Ephesus. It was great going with a small group as we were able to maneuver around the large tour groups and Merve was able to point out all the most fascinating sites. After lunch she took us to see the remains of Artemis' temple.Pick up and drop off from the hotel was easy and seamless, the vehicle was comfortable and would definitely recommend this company for anybody looking for tours in the area.Excellent experience Excellent and friendly Azer guide. I had planned a full-day to respect a great-uncle killed on the 2nd day (26th) and grave unknown (so at the Lone Pine Memorial). Had 4 days in Istanbul and wanted a tour of the Canakkale area (in which the Gallipoli battlefields are located, near the township of Eceabat). My driver/s for the day were organised from Istanbul (see separate review on excellent tour company), then we picked-up the Crowded House Tours (CHT) guide locally. The guide (Hassin) was remarkable (with knowledge and sincerity) and was wearing a 'Kiwi jacket' presented by their visitors. We spent 4+ hours around the main grave/memorial areas (are 31 in total) as well as time at Lone Pine. We also paid respects at the Turkiye memorial as well (280k of them killed, along with ours of 240k). Day started with a snow-fall in Istanbul, then we had Gallipoli in sun and cool breezes, a fitting memorial) day tour n' with remarkable CHT staff. Thank you.A very moving experience The tour was very interesting and well organised. We were picked up at 06.45 from our hotel right on time. There was a 30 minute break after a couple of hours for rest rooms and food/drink and then another couple of hours to the the tour company office in Eceabat. There we met our guide, Burak, who was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining! We had lunch and then the tour which was very informative. Then back to the office to be transferred back to Istanbul and our hotel. All the connections worked really well, it was a very impressive set up. We were a bit alarmed after starting to talk to other people in the mini bus when we left to find that they were going on different tours. Some were doing Troy as well, some staying overnight etc etc. Its only when you get to the companys office in Eceabat that you realise that we were splitting up from there and going our different ways. Apart from that we had a great day and would definitely do it again.Fun Well-planned! Efficient team! Fun, loving, friendly and knowledgeable guides! Great company! Mert was our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the site as well. We also got to visit a jeweler on the way home, and whilst I am not normally a fan of tourist trap shopping locations, this one was amazing and very reasonably priced. I brought a sultanate ring for 1/4 of the price quoted in Cappadocia. I would highly recommend the tour.Really great guide and well paced experience. Please note that you will NOT get an opportunity to shop at the official gift shop after the tour -- they take you to a company owned a gift shop. If you would like to shop at the official gift shop, do so during the 10 minute break before the tour starts.A must do tour - excellent value and experiences The overall trip was well run from pick up to drop off. All staff were very friendly and professional. Lunch was decent with soup and a main, but probably good idea to bring some pre arranged snacks as it is a long drive. Vehicle immaculate condition and cleanliness. Tour guide we had Ibrahim (Ibo) was an awesome guide ….except he never told us his age, despite us all divulging ours and guessing his 😳. Ibrahim was so knowledgeable, passionate, friendly, charismatic, charming, jovial (so many more adjectives to describe but those were the main ones). Ibrahim was also so careful to make sure he explained everything he could and this was evident by him doing mental checklists. Couldn’t recommend more highly as a company, it is one of the best run experiences that we have been on, whilst on our travelsGreat tour guide The tire company was easy to deal with and took care of everything. Azer (our guide) spoke great English and her knowledge was second to none. She also knows all the best selfie spots. A Great experience.John. & Susies Day trip to Troy We were picked up on time ( an early start 0630hrs for a very long day) . We were transported in a small mini bus. With a stop on route for morning tea/ toilets etc. Lunch in Cannake ( was nice & sufficient) We were then split into groups- some to galipoli- us to Troy. We got ferry across the dardanelles ( only 15mins- 20mins on way back). We had photo time with Trojan horse used in movie - then onto the real Troy. Our guide was informative of the site ( various time periods). Always time for photos & to ask questions. After a small snack break & time to buy gifts . Bus & ferry return. A stop at previous location for a half hour odd for tea on way back & dropped off at ones hotel . Arrived at hotel 2100hrs. A long day but a good one. To Note: we accidentally left some t shirts that we brought on the trip in the back of our tour bus . I contacted Crowded house company immediately, when we found that we had forgotten them - & they so kindly dropped them off at our hotel the very next morning. Now that is great service & we very much appreciated such. Thank you.Excellent, reliable tour company Crowded House (weird name for an excellent, reliable company) greeted us with immaculate vans, friendly drivers and the best tour guide in all of Turkey, Aykut! Can't praise him enough. Aykut, a self described Trojan and magical storyteller historian, made everything come alive - from the colorful legends, movie lore, to actual history. We had several excellent tour guides throughout our stay but none quite as good or memorable as Aykut.Excellent trip. Both days were interesting and well organized with a great guide. The tour company is well organized and very professional - accommodation was a nice hotel in a great location. Would book with them again.Do It! Don’t let the long drive there and back discourage you from going to Pamukkale- this tour company does a wonderful job organizing the trip with rest stops, Comfortable vehicles and pleasant staff. We had a solid three hours to see the sites, relax, and the Cleopatra pool and not feel rushed. Our tour guide Mert, Gave interesting information both on the bus and at the sites so we felt well informed. Best if all when Kushadasi Private Toirss cancelled our trip to Ephesus through next day. They were well organised, friendly and the guides were informative and professional. Ephesus was incredible although pretty busy. I preferred my quieter visits to Priene, Didymus and Pergamon. However, if you only have time for one such visit I would recommend Ephesus. Pammukale is well worth a visit also but do not expect the beautiful blue terraces you see pictured. I went in September and they were dry and white. I don't know if there is a time of year when they are more like the photos. I would have liked more time at Pamukkale as there is a lot to see. The theatre is worth exploring but there was not time to see everything. The museum is definitely worth seeing - not to be missed. We were given the option to go to the Thermal Pool but I preferred to spend the time seeing the other sights there. All in all, a great day out.Others have said that this tour company includes unlisted visits to local artisans and they do. This became a little annoying as I was really not much interested in leather production and a fashion show of very expensive leather goods, or silk production either as I am vegetarian and am uncomfortable with both. Despite these, I definitely would consider some of the other packages that they offer since they are so well organized.Crowded House Tours Concern The bus of the company Suha Tours that took us from Cappadocia to Cusadasi was with a delay of more than three hours and the Crowded House Tours agency contacted us and looked for all possible ways to pick us up on the way and be able to join the tour that had already started. Crowded House Tours took care to pick us up personally from the bus station and took us to join the tour of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary that had already begun. Guide in Spanish, Azer Carpaz Akca was very friendly and updated us with what was explained on the tour. Proficient in the Spanish language and Turkish history. We recommend the agency and recommend Azer services.The trip itself was great the only downside to it was the picks ups and drop offs. Fabulous tours, very informative, good drivers and guides. But….1.took the ferry back from Chanakkale and were told to stay in the minibus for the ferry journey. Error of judgement - no life vests in the van if the ferry had gone down!! 2. Not all seatbelts in the minibus were working properly. Should be checked for each journey. 3. Drop off after 4 hour journey from Gallipoli peninsula was not at the hotel with insufficient directions to find it. Just need to sharpen up on safety and protocols but otherwise a good company to tour with.I cannot say enough about this incredible tour company! Ramazan created an itinerary for our 1 week stay which included all airport transfers, accomodation, day tour of Istanbul, day tour to Gallopoli, and 2 nights in Cappadocia. Everything went well, the transfers were great and on time, the accomodation was great and in a great location, especially the Hera Cave Suites in Goreme, and the tours were excellent.Fantastic Tour We arrived in Istanbul early March with some vague ideas about where we might travel, but mindful of the tragedy in the earthquake affected areas. We decided we needed help navigating the vast distances and many sites and contacted Ramazan Altuntas at Crowded House. Best decision we ever made! Within the day Ramazan had laid out a fantastic itinerary getting us to the exotic landscape of Cappadocia, then to Canakkale and the memorial peninsular of Gallipoli, Troy, Pergamon and beyond to the mind blowing Ephesus, the delightful, surprising beautiful Pamukkale (and a swim in Celopatra's pool). Then finally to Fethiye in the south. Everyone at Crowded House was excellent. Always responsive via phone, text, email or in person. We were picked up from Istanbul and transferred to Gallipoli tour including lunch, then taken to our accommodation in Canakkale that night. Great tour, really easy to understand and really meaningful as an Australian. Next day we were picked up and taken to Troy and then to Pergammon tours. Long day but really meaningful and one of the highlights was stopping for lunch at a Womens Coop of Carpet weavers. They were not pushy at all and our kids loved it. This tour ended by taking us to Kusadasi. We also organized through Ramazan to have a tour of Ephesus and another one to Pammukale through a connecting company. Really great service and good tours. We loved our experience so much that later the next month we arranged for a private tour for 5 days that took us from Kas to Antayla, to Cappadocia to Ankara. Throughout it all we enjoyed our driver Shukru and loved the ability to organize what we wanted and when we wanted to do it. The price was great.....about the same price as hiring a car for us. That trip remains until today one of my wife's favorite trip who typicaly doesn't like guided tours and battlefields. The service was on time, and tour guides excellent.I arranged with Ramadan and his team an airport pick up and Tory and Gallipoli guided tours for our son last month (July 2018) and he reported back that he has never had better guides. The airport transfers, bus and accommodations - both in Istanbul and at Crowded House were awesome.I subsequently worked with Ramazan on Cappadocia tour with balloon flight and airport transport and Istanbul hotel for me as I was returning to USA via Tajikistan and wanted to meet and travel with my son.
